Overview
Andrew is an associate in the Vorys Washington, D.C. office and a member of the litigation group. He has experience representing clients in a variety of dispute areas including: construction, vendor/subcontractor disputes, civil rights defense, injury/wrongful death, antitrust, employment, and various other business disputes.
Representative Experience
- Represented EPC contractor in a three-week AAA arbitration over a complex greenfield industrial project, with more than $93 million in claims and counterclaims related to contract balance, disputed change orders, liquidated damages, and alleged construction defects. Achieved a significant net recovery for the client, including full recovery of all attorneys’ fees requested.
- Numerous representations of construction and manufacturer clients in disputes related to vendor/subcontractor payment, breach of contract, and various torts.
- Regularly advises construction clients on complex contractual indemnity, insurance obligations.
- Numerous representations of local governmental entities, emergency services districts, private emergency services companies, facing injury/wrongful death and civil rights claims brought pursuant to 42 U.S. § 1983 and various state torts.
- Represented employers in Virginia and Texas state and federal courts facing discrimination and retaliation claims under the Virginia Human Rights Act and Title VII.
- Serving as member of team representing major retailers in lawsuits filed in the Northern District of Illinois and Southern District of New York alleging violations of the U.S. antitrust laws by Visa and Mastercard.
Andrew received his J.D cum laude from the University of South Carolina School of Law. He received his B.S. from the University of South Carolina.
