ACREL Lunch & Learn

Jacinto Núñez, a partner in the Vorys Akron and Cleveland offices and a member of the firm's real estate practice, participated in the American College of Real Estate's Lunch & Learn program on September 29 at the University of Akron School of Law.

The topic was "Redeveloping Downtown Akron: A Case Study in the Role of Real Estate Law in Placemaking." The panelists used Akron as a case study for downtown redevelopment, exploring the long-term placemaking effort that requires coordinated action by property owners,
developers, lenders, public officials, institutions, nonprofits and residents.  The session examined how real estate law helps convert civic vision into active, connected places—from site control, land use, and environmental and historic-preservation issues through public-private
financing, construction, leasing and long-term operations.

Jacinto was joined by Jason Dodson, director of Roetzel Consulting Solutions; Christopher Hardesty, executive director of the Downtown Akron Development Corporation; and Brittany Grimes Zaehringer, chief of staff for the City of Akron.
